Structured Walks

Focusing on introducing leash handling skills, boundaries, and clear communication during walks. We practice how to introduce more structure on your dogs walk to calmly navigate real-world environments with them. We also discuss any specific walking challenges you're facing, tailored to your goals and your dog’s needs.

Redirection Techniques

Focusing on redirection techniques that help you communicate calmly and confidently with your dog. We teach how to use spatial pressure to de-escalate arousal and create space when needed, as well as how to assert boundaries in situations like teaching a reliable “leave it.” We also practice a leash technique called a “quality check", which improves engagement and creates smoother, more confident walks. This lesson is tailored to your dog’s energy and sensitivity level, with an emphasis on using the right tools fairly and effectively.

Impulse Control

Focusing on building neutrality and impulse control to help your reactive dog stay calm and focused around triggers. Whether it’s barking, lunging, or heightened alertness we work on understanding your dog’s threshold—helping you recognize the signs before escalation—and practice capturing calm, disengaged behavior to reinforce emotional regulation. This lesson lays the groundwork for safer walks, better focus, and long-term success in challenging environments.

Skills for Settle

Focusing on teaching your reactive dog how to settle and decompress, both at home and in new environments. Because reactive dogs often struggle to turn off, we introduce practical exercises to build calmness, independence, and self-regulation. We also discuss how to create a routine and environment that supports rest and recovery, helping your dog feel safe, relaxed, and in control. These skills are essential for developing an “off switch” and reducing reactivity over time.

Socialization Skills

Focusing on structured socialization to help your dog develop healthy, neutral responses to people and other dogs. Whether your dog is overly friendly and impulsive or unsure and avoidant, we tailor the exercises to meet their individual needs. We practice how to guide your dog through social situations calmly, using distance, timing, and engagement to prevent overwhelm or overexcitement. These skills help build neutrality, improve handler focus, and set the foundation for confident, respectful social behavior.
