Service Description

Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for all temperaments of dogs and help owners "practice" their leash manners & engagement with the training you have acquired for us or another trainer. It is recommended that your dog have basic obedience to be successful. GOOD FOR? - Intermediate Level Training - Practicing Leash Manners - Practicing Engagement - Practicing Neutrality Around Distractions WHAT? You will be guided through a local park in an on-leash only environment to practice your dogs polite walking and neutrality when around dogs and people. During your walk, we will practice "pass by exercises" around other the other owners at a safe distance from each other. Although there will be a Certified Dog Trainer present to give pointers, each handler is responsible for “managing” their own dog. WHERE? Meadow Park Green in Royal Bay WHEN? Check our booking calendar for upcoming sessions! EQUIPMENT? Dogs must be on a four to six foot leash and wearing a collar and a current ID tag (slip leashes, prong collars, remote collars, gentle leaders harnesses and muzzles are acceptable if handler and dog have been trained on proper and appropriate use). Back clip harnesses are not allowed for safety reasons. TREATS? You can bring treats for your dog, however be mindful of how and when you use them. Bring some water for you and your dog. SAFETY? The goal is to keep every person and dog safe, so maintaining a minimum of 20ft between dog and handler teams is crucial, unless otherwise instructed. On sidewalks and roads dogs need to be “up short but slack on the leash”. Handlers need to wear comfortable foot wear and weather appropriate clothing. PLEASE NOTE: Owners and their dogs are participating at their own risk. RESPECT We are all in this together, as a group we are here to encourage and support each other and all of the dogs. No one should feel embarrassed if their dog acts out our purpose is to help them learn new ways of coping and alternate behaviors.
