Service Description

REQUIREMENTS - Maximum 2 people per dog allowed - Dogs over 6 months old - On leash only *This class is not for reactive or aggressive dogs. If your dog is reactive or aggressive please contact us BOOKING - Book online - Drop in flexibility - Maximum 4 spots available WHAT This class provides an opportunity to teach your dog foundational skills for being successful on the trail or even in the home. We focus on basic loose leash walking skills, obedience and engagement to your dog has better impulse control around distractions. Our Level 1 Trail Manners course keeps your environment simple and easy so you are successful with fine tuning your dogs skills. Check out our Level 2 course where we take the skills you've learned in Level 1 out on the trail. GOOD FOR - Dogs older than 6 months old - All training stages - Owners new to group training - Owners who haven’t taken a program with us before - Owners who haven’t recently taken a formal obedience course - Dogs who struggle with distractions WHERE Herm Williams Park WHEN See our booking calendar for upcoming sessions! Sessions are seasonal from March - November WHAT TO BRING - 6ft leash - 15-30ft leash - A collar with a current ID tag - Any current training equipment - Water - Rewards (toy or food) SAFETY The goal is to keep every person and dog safe, so maintaining distance between dog and handler teams is crucial, unless otherwise instructed. On sidewalks and roads dogs need to be “up short but slack on the leash”. Handlers need to wear comfortable foot wear and weather appropriate clothing. Please be mindful of how and when you use rewards (not in proximity to other dogs). PLEASE NOTE: Owners and their dogs are participating at their own risk. DON"T FEEL EMBARRASSED We are all in this together, as a group we are here to encourage and support each other and all of the dogs. No one should feel embarrassed if their dog acts out and is reactive, our purpose is to help them learn new ways of coping and alternate behaviors. All of our classes are designed to include all temperaments of dogs including reactive or aggressive ones.

Cancellation Policy

The owner of the dog(s) may postpone their Group Training program and receive a full refund or credit provided 1 weeks notice is given to the Focus K9 before the program start date. Failure to give Focus K9 the appropriate notice of a cancellation will result in the Focus K9 counting said failure as completed and owner will be charged in full. No refunds are available once a session or class has started.
