Service Description

Turning Reactivity into Neutrality REQUIREMENTS - Reactive dog (if your dog is aggressive please contact us) - Maximum 2 people per dog allowed - Dogs over 6 months old BOOKING - Book online - Maximum 3 spots available - 8 week commitment required (if additional sessions are needed after the initial 8, owners can then book drop in sessions as needed) WHAT In our supportive and structured environment, dogs learn to manage their reactions to triggers, develop coping mechanisms, and improve their overall emotional well-being. Through carefully crafted exercises and controlled exposure to stimuli, we work to desensitize dogs to triggers while teaching them alternative, more appropriate responses. GOOD FOR - All training stages - Dogs older than 6 months old - Owners with reactive or aggressive dogs WHERE Colwood/Langford (see booking calendar for specific information) WHEN See our booking calendar for upcoming sessions! Sessions are seasonal from March - November WHAT TO BRING - Dogs must be on a 6ft leash - A collar with a current ID tag - Water - Rewards (toy or food) * Slip leashes, prong collars, remote collars, gentle leaders and muzzles are acceptable if handler has been trained on appropriate use SAFETY The goal is to keep every person and dog safe, so maintaining distance between dog and handler teams is crucial, unless otherwise instructed. On sidewalks and roads dogs need to be “up short but slack on the leash”. Handlers need to wear comfortable foot wear and weather appropriate clothing. Please be mindful of how and when you use rewards (not in proximity to other dogs). PLEASE NOTE: Owners and their dogs are participating at their own risk. DON"T FEEL EMBARRASSED We are all in this together, as a group we are here to encourage and support each other and all of the dogs. No one should feel embarrassed if their dog acts out and is reactive, our purpose is to help them learn new ways of coping and alternate behaviors. All of our classes are designed to include all temperaments of dogs including reactive or aggressive ones.
