In-Home overnight care provides stress free, reliable care in your pet’s home, delivered by a certified pet sitter experienced in handling challenging and behaviourally complex dogs. This service is ideal for pets who do best with routine, familiarity, and confident handling rather than a boarding environment.

Care follows our classic standard, meaning your pet’s mental state, physical needs, and behavioural profile are thoughtfully considered throughout the stay. Overnight care includes a certified caregiver staying in your home ensuring routine care is tailored to your pets needs. Our focus is on maintaining stability, safety, and wellbeing while you’re away.

Booking Process

All requests must be submitted through our Inquiry form (top of page) or emailing us directly at info@focuscanine.com. Please include your requested dates and service needs.
Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee availability or confirm a booking. All requests are reviewed prior to approval.

Consultation
All new clients are required to complete a consultation before booking is approved.

Meet & Greet
Once dates are approved, an in-person Meet and Greet with the assigned canine caregiver is required for all pet sitting bookings, including returning clients.
The meet and greet allows your pet to become familiar with their canine caregiver and ensures clear communication regarding routines, access, and care expectations. Pet sitting services will not begin without a completed meet and greet.

Service & Care
Pet sitting services begin only after all booking requirements and payments have been completed and approved. Services are provided in accordance with the agreed schedule and care instructions, with reasonable professional discretion applied when safety or welfare requires adjustments.

Payment & Deposits
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure approved pet sitting dates.
- For standard bookings, the remaining balance is due two (2) weeks before the start of service.
- For holiday bookings, the remaining balance is due four (4) weeks before the start of service.

Christmas/New Years, Easter, statutory holidays/long weekends, Thanksgiving

Bookings are not confirmed until the required deposit is received. Failure to complete payment by the required deadline may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the deposit.

Clients must also ensure a reliable emergency contact and/or valid payment method is on file with their preferred veterinary clinic or with our company prior to the start of services. If no valid payment method is available and the Client or emergency contact cannot be reached, we may be unable to proceed with emergency care.
Cancellation
& Rescheuling
Please email us at info@focuscanine.com should you need to cancel or reschedule.
All deposits are non-refundable.
Standard bookings require two (2) weeks’ notice for cancellation.
Holiday bookings* require four (4) weeks’ notice for cancellation.
*(Christmas/New Years, Thanksgiving, Easter, Long Weekends)

Cancellations made outside the required notice period are responsible for the full remaining balance.

Once pet sitting services have begun, no refunds or credits are provided for early returns, shortened stays, or schedule changes.
