Adult Socialization

A Drop-In Socialization Class for Introducing your Dog to New Dogs.

Details

Our Adult Socialization Class is an advanced, semi-private training experience designed to help dogs develop appropriate social skills, confidence, and neutrality around other dogs.

True socialization is more than simply allowing dogs to play. It requires understanding canine body language, managing arousal, and teaching dogs how to make appropriate choices in real-world situations. This type of training is rarely offered through training companies because it requires a high level of experience, careful planning, and the ability to safely guide complex dog-to-dog interactions. We are proud to exclusively offer this opportunity to help owners continue growing their skills and build a stronger relationship with their dogs.

What to Expect

Each class begins with structured engagement and neutrality exercises, teaching dogs to focus on their handler, remain calm around distractions, and develop better emotional control. The class then transitions into a guided social pack walk where dogs practice these skills in a more natural environment.

Dogs who have demonstrated the appropriate skills may be given opportunities to socialize off leash in a supervised setting. Dogs who are still developing their social skills will participate on long lines, allowing them to safely practice movement, communication, and interactions while maintaining structure and guidance.

Owners will learn how to read body language, recognize healthy and unhealthy interactions, advocate for their dog, and understand how to create more freedom through responsibility.

Occasionally, a trained helper dog may be introduced to provide additional learning opportunities and demonstrate appropriate social skills. As our community continues to grow, select Top Canine Club members may have the opportunity to join these social walks with their dogs, helping provide additional stable and experienced dogs for appropriate social development.

Dogs with a history of aggression, nipping, or mouthing must be muzzle-trained, and owners are required to bring the muzzle to each class.

Please Note: Owners and their dogs are participating at their own risk.

Don't Be Embarassed!
