Service Description

*For Dogs older than 6 Months Old SOCIALIZATION Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment to help you "practice" your dogs socialization skills with other dogs. WHAT? You will be guided by a Certified Trainer on how to appropriately introduce 2 dogs on leash while going for a pack walk in a local area. Dogs are permitted off leash during the pack walk if they have the appropriate skills however it is not required. During your socialization class, you will practice appropriate greetings, butt sniffs, appropriate play and training off leash control. Each handler is responsible for “managing” their own dog. (Not Ready for Off Leash Environments? Check out our "On Leash Only" Group Walks.) WHERE? Location may vary but will always be in Colwood/Langford (see booking calendar for more information) WHEN? See our booking calendar for upcoming sessions! EQUIPMENT? Dogs must be on leash unless instructed otherwise. The dog must be wearing a collar with a current ID tag (slip leashes, prong collars, remote collars, gentle leaders and muzzles are acceptable if handler and dog have been trained on proper and appropriate use). We do allow back clip harness at this class for safety reasons. Please bring a long line, no longer than 20ft for recall practice. TREATS? You can bring treats for your dog, however be mindful of how and when you use them, not in proximity to other dogs. Bring some water for you and your dog. SAFETY? The goal is to keep every person and dog safe. Handlers need to wear comfortable foot wear and weather appropriate clothing. PLEASE NOTE: Owners and their dogs are participating at their own risk. All dogs must be managed at all times on OR off leash. RESPECT: We are all in this together, as a group we are here to encourage and support each other and all of the dogs. No one should feel embarrassed if their dog acts out as our purpose is to help them learn new ways of coping and alternate behaviors

Cancellation Policy

* Travel Fee's will apply for travel outside of the Westshore The owner of the dog(s) may postpone any Private Training, Group or Socialization options provided 48hrs notice is given to the Focus K9. Cancellations and rescheduling for Consultations must be made no later than 1 week in advance to receive a full refund. Failure to give Focus K9 the appropriate notice of a cancellation will result in the Focus K9 counting said failure as completed and owner will be charged in full. No refunds are available once a session or class has started.
