Common Questions
Owners Ask Us
When should I start puppy training? As soon as your puppy comes home. Early weeks are when puppies are most open to new experiences, so starting early makes everything easier later.
My puppy isn't fully vaccinated yet. Can we still train? Yes. Early sessions happen at home and in low-risk places, and we plan socialization around your vet's advice.
Do I need a consultation first? The Puppy Manners program comes with a virtual Meet & Greet. Secure your meet and greet by reaching out to us and completing a $50 deposit which is applied towards your program cost. For the Foundational Manners group program, you can simply book online when you are ready to start.
What tools and methods do you use? We take the LIMA (least intrusive, minimally aversive) approach. Methods are chosen for each dog after assessment, based on their behaviour, temperament and your goals. We explain everything before we use it, and your dog's wellbeing comes first.
What age is Puppy Manners for? Puppies under 6 months. Dogs past puppy age move on to Foundational Manners.
What comes after puppy training? Most dogs continue to Foundational Manners, then Public Manners, and for owners who want off-leash reliability, Total Control.
My puppy is already showing fear or reactivity. Is this the right program? Possibly not. A consultation will confirm whether Puppy Manners or our behavioural track, Calm & Confident, is the better fit. See our reactive dog training page.
