Total Control

Off-leash dog training in Victoria, BC, built on trust and not just a remote.

Total Control builds complete off-leash reliability alongside a professional, responsible introduction to the remote collar. You'll learn to use low, communicative levels to teach heel, recall and settle under real distraction, then gradually fade leash and e-collar dependence until your dog is working off leash reliably and confidently.

The goal isn't obedience for its own sake. It's safety, freedom, and a level of trust between you and your dog that holds up where control actually matters: off-leash trails, busy parks, and moments you can't script.

"I wish I started sooner. I didn't think this level of freedom was possible."

Common Questions.

What is Total Control dog training? An off-leash reliability program with a professional, responsible introduction to the remote collar. Heel, recall and settle are taught under distraction, then leash and e-collar dependence is faded over time.

Is a remote collar safe for my dog? Remote collars can be used on various breeds and temperaments however may not be suitable for all owners. A consultation will confirm whether it suits you and your dog. The program starts with conditioning at a low, communicative level and builds gradually, with a certified trainer guiding every step.

What should my dog know before starting? A reliable foundation under basic distraction, usually from Foundational Manners or a higher level.

Will my dog always need the collar? No. The goal is to gradually fade both leash and e-collar dependence until your dog works from trust however we recommend having it on when outside in case an unpredictable situation arises.
